When Amie Skyler Murphree got married on Saturday, she had a special surprise for one of her bridesmaids.
When it came time to toss the bouquet, she turned around and walked over to he brother’s soon-to-be fiancee, Savannah Gore, and handed the bouquet directly to her.
Amie’s brother, Matthew Murphree dropped to one knee to propose to Savannah. Savannah, clearly touched, said, “Yes,” and Matthew put the ring on her finger.
Amie told Business Insider that they had to modify the wedding schedule to make sure the proposal went smoothly.
“We actually had to skip the garter toss because I was so worried she would see the big ring box in his pocket. She would have thought it weird that he didn’t participate in the garter toss so we skipped it and just went straight to the bouquet toss,” the bride said.
Matthew was hesitant to take the attention off of Amie on her big day, but the bride says it made her wedding more meaningful – and social media couldn’t agree more.
The video has already clocked up more than four million views.
I don’t know any other bride who would allow her special day to be turned into someone else’s day. And to have the attention off her. That was a selfless act, shows she has a heart of gold https://t.co/GGJkYnXrir
