Man has no recollection of proposing after taking sleeping pills

Of all the big moments to happen in your life, getting down on one knee and proposing has to be up there as one of the top of them.

But one guy’s proposal couldn’t have gone worse, mainly because he had no intention of popping the question in the first place.

The man took to Reddit to ask for advice, revealing that he couldn’t remember asking his girlfriend to marry him, because he had taken four sleeping tablets.

“I want to start off with saying that ambien is the strongest drug/hallucinogen I’ve ever tried and you should not f*** with it,” he started his post.

He went on to explain that he couldn’t sleep, so decided to take four 10mg ambien in an effort to conk him out.

“I had an engagement ring in my drawer that I traded for some other jewellery because iI buy and sell stuff on craigslist (sic),” he continued.

“Long story short I woke up and she was wearing the ring on her finger and had explained what had happened and i was just shook because i couldn’t remember s**t.”

As if that wasn’t bad enough, he went on Facebook only to discover that he’d changed his relationship status to engaged and it already had 150 likes before he even saw it.

“I had not planned on being engaged with my girlfriend for another year and a half and probably would’ve gotten her a better ring but ambien sped up the process ten folds,” he said.

“Warning: if its 3am, and you can’t sleep ,DO NOT TAKE AMBIEN.”

After some warnings from commenters on the effects ambien can have on your body, the man said that he’s never going to take them again.

“My mom use to take ambien….until she fell down the stairs. Wouldn’t let me call 911. She just laid there for over an hour then crawled her way back up into her bedroom.,” one person said.

“Took 40mg once and swore I had four eyes. Woke up to numerous pictures in my camera roll of me shirtless in the mirror looking like a madman with, alas, two eyes.,” another person said.

Others suggested that the man just tell his girlfriend that he can’t remember a thing from the night as it should be memorable for him too.
