Man carrying pizza dies in freak skateboarding incident

A skateboarder has died in a freak accident in Perth while out buying a pizza.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was skating on a footpath along McKimmie Road in Palmyra, in Perth’s southwest, when he fell on Friday night.

The man reportedly had a beer bottle in his pocket, which smashed during the fall and severed his femoral artery, according to 7News.

Security vision from a nearby home shows the man skating down the street, pizza in hand, before the tragic accident.

An ambulance can be seen rushing to the man’s aid, but he could not be saved.

On Monday, flowers were laid by the footpath where the man died.

The City of Melville erected a sign on Monday warning pedestrians of the uneven path, although it is unclear if that’s why the man fell from his skateboard.
