A Major Detail About Meghan Markle's Wedding Dress Has Just Been Revealed

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry need to chill it with the cuteness because my heart can't take it anymore! First, there were reports that Meg, Harry, and Meg's mom Doria are all so close that they sometimes all put their arms around each other (I mean, come on!), and the 2018 HBO documentary Queen of the World revealed the "something blue" at Meghan's wedding was also something hella romantic.

In Queen of the World, Meghan is reunited with her wedding dress for the first time. She clearly loves her dress, proclaiming, "It's amazing, isn't it?" while admiring the veil, saying, "The work that they did here is just so beautiful." She then takes a second to gaze at the dress, saying, "Wow."

But the most heart-melting part is when she shares there's something hidden in the veil. "Somewhere in here," Meghan says, "There's a piece of blue fabric stitched inside. It was my something blue. It's fabric from the dress that I wore on our first date." Awww!!

But, wait, there's more! Clare Waight Keller, the first-ever female artistic director of Givenchy and the mastermind behind Meghan's beautiful gown, spoke with Vanity Fair in 2023 and dished on what it was like to incorporate her "something blue" into the design.

"We basically sewed it into the hem of the wedding dress, so she was the only one that knew that it was there. It was a little blue gingham check," Clare explained. "It was the perfect personal memento that was secretly hidden inside the dress."

Clare also discussed the 3,900 hours it took to design Meghan's 16.5-foot (!!) silk tulle veil, which was hand-embroidered with flowers from all 53 Commonwealth countries. They even featured an homage to Kensington Palace and Meghan's home state of California in the meaningful piece.

"She felt like she was bringing an element of each of those countries down the aisle with her. So that her new role—and that bridge to the new role—was captured in what she was wearing," Clare told the outlet. "For both of us, we felt it was a really beautiful signature, and I think even Prince Harry was just thrilled at the idea that we really tried to capture something for everyone in that service."

"King Charles was just in awe of the dress and the embroidery, and he asked me about it while we were waiting inside the nave," she continued. "He was really very interested, actually, in all the different motifs and the floral representations."

So basically, the love between Harry and Meghan is real, she found an actual prince to marry in a stunning and meaningful gown, and I'm totally not jealous at all. 🥲
