MAFS themed real estate sign goes viral
Australia’s fascination with Married at First Sight may have officially reached fever-pitch after a house’s MAFS-inspired ‘sold’ sign went viral on social media.
The sign was placed outside a home in New South Wales’ Hunter Valley and featured a picture of a blindfolded MAFS couple along with a cheeky caption in large white text.
“Quicker than a #MAFS divorce,” the message read, in reference to the house’s apparently fast sale.
The sign features Sharon and Nick from the series’ 2017 season, who split six months after the program went to air – which is a relatively long-lasting run in reality TV terms.
The post was shared by former contestants Nick Furphy and Clare Verrall, as well as the MAFS Funny Instagram account where it has already amassed over 5,000 likes.
And while the real estate agency confirmed the sign was in fact real, a representative told Yahoo Lifestyle they weren’t responsible for putting it in front of the house.
“We usually aren’t the ones who take care of the sold sign, so I’m not sure who did that,” she said.
This year’s MAFS has trumped even previous seasons’ ratings, with more than 1 million metro viewers tuning in to most of its episodes.
