She’s been nicknamed ‘Cyclone Cyrell’ on Married At First Sight, and now the reality TV star has found herself in trouble off-screen after being arrested by police for drink driving.
The 29-year-old was pulled over for a random breath test in February and returned a 0.015 result, two hours after drinking a vodka and orange.
While still below the legal limit of 0.05, Cyrell only holds a provisional licence and must have no alcohol in her system when behind the wheel.
The reality TV star has been quick to express regret and accept full responsibility for her actions.
“Drink driving is a scourge in NSW. It kills so many people and regardless of how you view the law, it is there to protect us,” she told WHO.
“In my case the facts of the matter are that I should not have been driving. I did and it was foolish, but not deliberate in the sense I believed I could do as I please and get away with it.”
“Any amount of alcohol can lead to a momentary lapse in concentration and then it’s a game of Russian roulette.”
The incident comes as Cyrell’s relationship with 28-year-old cancer survivor Nic Jovanovic is crumbling on MAFS.
During her time on the show to date, she’s been involved in a violent clash with fellow ‘bride’ Martha Kalifatidis, and was asked to leave the room during a commitment ceremony because of her past behaviour towards Ines Basic.
