Former MAFS groom Nasser Sultan is making a silver screen comeback two years after he divided fans with a tumultuous turn on the reality series.
The 52-year-old raised eyebrows on Thursday evening when he shared a video to social media begging fans to tune into his latest bid to find romantic love.
It seems he has dialled down the extremity of his efforts, taking his search from a blind wedding to a blind date, appearing on the hit series First Dates next Tuesday.
“I'll be appearing in your lounge rooms with my beautiful date. I'm not going to give away too much,” he teased fans in the video, adding he thought the show was one of the ‘best on television’ in a pointed dig at his former series, Married at First Sight.
Fans were quick to reassure the former reality star that they would indeed be watching.
“I’m so looking forward to it!” one wrote. “Love that show.”
“Can't wait to see you again on TV,” another agreed.
A string of reality appearances from Nasser
The episode will be just the latest in a series of appearances, and attempted appearances, on Aussie screens since his less than ideal stint on MAFS.
He raised eyebrows after reportedly attempting to crash the filming of this year’s season in 2019, and calling Vanessa Romito a bogan when he was ejected by security.
He also made a brief appearance on Trial by Kyle in 2018 over a dispute with a paparazzo which ended with his very dramatic courtroom storm-out.
With a clear penchant for drama, the groom should be right at home on the dating show which has seen a series of eyebrow-raising moments from minor celebrities in the past.
Other MAFS stars have also had a go at the show, with Steve Burley appearing on the program on a disastrous date that saw him labelled ‘controlling’ by fans before his MAFS appearance this year.
