Married at First Sight star Martha Kalifatidis is no stranger to stripping down for her almost 300k Instagram followers.
But now, the 31-year-old, who remains in a relationship with onscreen husband Michael Brunelli, has revealed her racy snaps have another unlikely fan.
“I will never know [why the nudes] are so controversial,” Martha tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “My grandmother was like ‘I want to frame these’.”
“We made her a picture of all the grandkids on a canvas and she wants the nudes on the canvas.”
The shock revelation came during a candid chat, which also saw the reality TV star speak about her recent partnership with discount app, ShopBack.
In the six months since the MAFS finale aired, Martha’s rarely stayed out of the spotlight, not least when posting often-controversial nude photos across her social media.
Yiayia’s favourite snaps
One photo which gained widespread attention was a cosy couple snap with Michael in Mexico last month, with saw a naked Martha cuddle up to her shirtless boyfriend of one year on a balcony.
But despite the criticism, she remains focused only on the opinions of those closest to her.
“I asked her ‘do you like that one yiayia?’ and she’s like ‘this one is the best’,” Martha says in reference to the infamous anniversary snap.
“When I got back from Greece she wanted to see some of my photos because I was going through my camera roll, and in one of them I was topless on a beach and my hair was only kind of covering my boobs a bit and she’s like ‘this one is super’.”
A family affair
But Martha’s grandmother isn’t the only person in support of her photographic exploits, with some fans speculating her mother or sister, Mary, may at times be behind the lens.
This came to a head with an image of the TV star posing naked in a bathtub, while Michael, also in the buff, stands under a shower that doesn’t appear to be on.
Looking past the nudity however, her fans couldn’t stop asking who actually took the photo.
“All I can think is who took this raunchy photo?” one person said, while another wrote, “Please tell me mum took this photo too????”
A third person suggested Martha’s sister Mary was behind the snap, after she commented herself saying, “Jeez I take the best photos”.
Others even suggested a timer was used, and pointed to the moving bathtub water as proof, but while Martha remained coy, she hinted in a reply that the photographer “maybe” her sister.
