MAFS' Lauren Huntriss shows off weight loss transformation: 'Self-love journey'

Married At First Sight star Lauren Huntriss has taken to Instagram to show off her impressive weight loss transformation and speak openly about her ‘self-love journey’.

The make-up artist, who appeared on season six of the reality TV show back in 2019, shared a side by side post on Thursday showcasing the dramatic change.

“Every time I scroll through my camera roll and find these comparison photos I remind myself just how far I’ve come on my self-love journey,” she wrote in the caption.

“In the first picture (taken a couple of years back) I was in a pretty bad place mentally. I would try to manage my stress and anxiety in unhealthy ways (excessive drinking, partying, oversleeping). It took for me to hit rock bottom to snap out of things and make a change.”

Lauren went on to say that she has since learnt to cope “in a much healthier way” through regular exercise, a well-balanced diet, and daily mental health exercises.

“The universe is always going to challenge us, just remember it’s up to YOU to overcome these obstacles and show up in the world as your best self.”

Lauren’s followers quickly took to the comments to applaud her transformation, hard work and openness.

“Well done you… We each embark on a different journey and I’m happy you are on a good one. I love your honesty,” one person wrote.

“Amazing. Thank you for sharing your journey. Helps to get through the hard days,” another added.

“Beautiful inside and out,” a third said, followed by someone else who shared, “Always beautiful in your photos BUT it's wonderful to hear you're getting on top of your mental health”.

“Great job beautiful, you should be so proud of yourself,” a different user remarked.

'Excited for our life together'

Lauren’s post comes shortly after her former MAFS ‘husband’ Matthew Bennett announced that he had gotten engaged to his girlfriend of almost three years, Annabel Jameson.

The 32-year-old shared the news on Instagram back in November, posting several photos of the moment he proposed to Annabel at an alpaca farm.

“She said ‘YES!’,” he wrote in the caption. “It took me long enough to ask, but @belajameson you are the best thing that ever happened to me and I'm excited for our life together.”
