MAFS' Jess on Martha 'feud' and 'surprising' Jules friendship

Life has changed a lot for Jessika Power since Married At First Sight ended.

While her social media profile skyrocketed, her relationship with Dan Webb fell apart and some MAFS relationships have changed form.

Speaking to Yahoo Lifestyle Australia, the 27-year-old admits she and her onscreen BFF, Martha Kalifatidis, have drifted apart, and a lot of it is to do with Martha’s decision to distance herself from Jess.

“I’m single and controversial and Martha is in a relationship with Michael,” Jess explains. “And I feel she is really trying to reinvent her image to not be that controversial.

“I think Martha wants to work with high fashion and things like that.”

Jess says despite rumours of a ‘feud’, there’s “definitely no bad blood there” and that Martha’s decision to prioritise her career makes sense.

“You know what, I totally get that. Your job should be your priority,” says Jess.

“Also we live in separate states. If I saw Martha, we’d totally have a girl chat and have a wine. There’s no hate there whatsoever. There’s no hate there from me to anybody,” she explains.

“I just don’t talk to anyone apart from Ines,” she continues, before adding, “Mick messages me here and there to check in on how I’m going.

“I speak to surprisingly, Jules,” she adds.

“Jules will send me little pep talks here and there, like a mum talking [if] she can see I’m having a low day.”

Meanwhile earlier this week Kim Kardashian lookalike Martha also confirmed she no longer speaks to her co-stars despite their closeness on the show, and is instead focusing on her relationship with TV husband Michael Brunelli.

“I think reality has totally set in now,” Martha told Today Extra.

“I feel everyone has gone back to life the way it was before the show, and the reality is I don't really speak to anyone from the show anymore.”

The reality star insisted it was “not because we have bad blood, just simply because, I guess, life goes on and you move on”.

While Martha is supposedly focusing on ‘high-fashion’ pursuits, Jess and MAFS pal Ines Basic have been promoting a series of fashion and beauty brands themselves.

The reality duo recently joined forces to make a glam appearance at the Booby Tape launch in Sydney.

“I’m just trying to focus on life,” says Jess. “Build on me and work on me.”
