Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and Married At First Sight’s Jessika Power and Dan Webb proved that tonight as they kept their affair thriving despite being in different states.
While Jess’ husband Mick Gould was giving her the silent treatment, the 26-year-old decided to check in with Dan who was interstate visiting wife Tamara’s home.
“I wanted to give you a call today to see how you were feeling after the commitment ceremony and everything like that,” said Jess.
She was of course referring to the very heated discussion on Sunday night when other MAFS stars were suspicious of Jess’ reason to stay in the social experiment when it’s obvious she and Mick were at their wits’ end.
“I was a bit concerned of your views of what happened because I think you’re a really great guy,” explained Jess. “We share a lot of the same sort of values and memories for the future…”
Dan, who had snuck out of Tamara’s home to answer Jess’ call, admitted he could have reacted differently during the commitment ceremony.
“I actually went home and I was like, ‘Maybe I should have jumped in and said something’.
“I actually felt sorry for you but in saying that, you handled yourself so well,” he added.
After getting that bit of reassurance, Jess reiterated just how keen she was to take their spark to the next level.
“After the dinner party, I was a complete giddy mess, and this is the feeling I think I should have had the whole time,” she admitted.
“I think you’re a really great guy and I would love to catch up with you when I’m back in Sydney.”
“Righto, let’s do that then,” Dan agreed.
“Let’s catch up and have a bit more of a yarn and just see how things go and obviously try not to get anyone off side just yet.”
Note those last two words, ‘just yet’, because a cheating mess like this is bound to get uglier, and even Dan knows that.
Married At First Sight continues at 7:30pm on Channel Nine.
