Just over a week after confirming their split, Married At First Sight’s Brent Vitiello had an awkward reunion with his ex-girlfriend Taylor Davey at a movie premiere on Thursday night.

The pair both arrived at Stan’s screening of Transfusion within minutes of each other and did their best to avoid any potential run-in on the blue carpet.

An onlooker tells Yahoo Lifestyle that Taylor was the first to arrive and worked the cameras with a friend, while Brent hung back “looking tense” so they didn’t have to cross paths

“Brent arrived minutes after Taylor with Jack Millar and a few other friends,” the source adds. “He hung around the doors so he was the very last person to walk down the carpet as if he was waiting until Taylor was inside and seated.

“No one quite knows why they split up really. They were so loved up one minute and then it was over. He’s said they’re still friends but it looked like they were trying to avoid any public reunion in front of the media last night so maybe they're not.”

So Dramatic first reported last week that Brent and Taylor, who had been dating for seven months, had “quietly parted ways” before Christmas.

Brent then confirmed to Daily Mail shortly after that he and Taylor had broken up “a while ago” but remain “good friends”.

Brent and Taylor first began dating in May 2022 after he failed to find love on the ninth season of MAFS with his ‘wife’ Tamara Djordjevic.

They first crossed paths at a club in Sydney but didn’t start talking until they followed each other on Instagram. A few weeks later when Brent was in Los Angeles with his friends he decided to travel to Las Vegas to meet up with Taylor where they almost tied the knot.

“We almost got married in Vegas!” she told Yahoo Lifestyle in August. “After three days together we just said to the driver, ‘Take us to a chapel!’”

“But I fell asleep before we got there!” Brent added with a laugh. “We would have really got married if I didn’t fall asleep.”

The couple went Instagram official with their relationship in May and commemorated their whirlwind trip with matching finger tattoos.
