MAFS' Beth Kelly reveals huge dinner party 'clash' that didn't air on TV

There was plenty of drama in Wednesday night’s episode of Married At First Sight with a majority of the couples struggling in their relationships. Jamie Marinos and Dave Thomas Hand had their first major fight, Carina Mirabile admitted she no longer trusts Paul Antoine, and Eliot Donovan and Veronica Cloherty said they were ready to leave the experiment.

However, it turns out there was also another major clash at the dinner party that wasn’t shown on TV. Beth Kelly tells Yahoo Lifestyle that she and her partner Teejay Halkias got into an argument with Jacqui Burfoot and Ryan Donnelly, who she had spent three days living with during the controversial partner swap challenge.

“Me and Ryan and Jacqui had another clash at the dinner party. I'd had some time to reflect and because I wasn't feeling anxious anymore, I was like, ‘I don't like the way you actually spoke to me’,” she details, referring to his hard-hitting questions task.

“When it came up at the dinner party, I kind of yelled at Ryan across the table. So yeah, me and Ryan definitely didn't walk into that dinner party having an alliance. We actually had another argument.”

Interestingly, Beth and Ryan’s confrontation wasn’t completely edited out of the episode. While viewers weren’t privy to what they were saying to each other, one shot featured Beth and Teejay getting fired up while pointing at Jacqui and Ryan across the dinner table.

The argument took place at the same time Carina asked to take Awhina Rutene aside to apologise for the comments she had made about her twin sister Cleo, so the cameras clearly followed that storyline instead of Beth and Ryan’s.

Teejay recently told Yahoo Lifestyle that he and Ryan got into a huge argument at last week’s dinner party when he used inappropriate language towards Beth, but it was also completely edited out of the show.

“Ryan threw some choice words at my wife and started swearing at her, so I may or may not have politely asked him to stop doing that. It was quite a big thing at the dinner party,” he shared. “I got pretty heated, to be completely honest with you. I just don’t like when people come at my wife. He was swearing and that rubbed me the wrong way. The genie in the bottle came out.”

Teejay explained that Ryan’s conflict with Beth continued their fight at the retreat where he called her “classless” - which he apologised to her for at the cocktail party.

“I think Ryan and Beth were going at each other over something and he told her to ‘Effing shut up’. I didn't like that at all,” he continued. “I can’t remember the exact words verbatim, but it was somewhere along those lines. It definitely happened, and it definitely wasn’t nice.”
