MAFS' Awhina Rutene's twin Cleo reveals 'heartbreaking' effect of Adrian Araouzou's actions
EXCLUSIVE: Cleo Rutene, the twin sister of bride Awhina, tells Yahoo Lifestyle that Adrian "sucked" all the life from her sister.
After the MAFS experts threw the most shocking task out to the group this week giving all the brides and grooms the option to meet a potential backup match, the couples are imploding like never before. Awhina Rutene and Adrian Arouzou have had a tumultuous time in the experiment, which reached boiling point during Friends and Family Week when their sisters and Adrian's friend had a major yelling match after the groom temporarily left the experiment because he wasn't going to be featured in a promotional video.
Awhina's sister Cleo has always had her back during her time on the show, particularly after Wednesday night's shocking dinner party. Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle, Cleo revealed that Adrian had a major (and heartbreaking) effect on Awhina, which saw "all the light sucked out" of her.
"It was heartbreaking to see all the light sucked out of my twin sister at the last dinner party," she tells us. "My sister deserved better."
MAFS' Adrian reveals he won't move for 'wife' Awhina
The dinner party episode saw Adrian say that he doesn't care enough for Awhina to "pack up bags tomorrow" and move to Perth with her, where she lives with her son.
"I don't see myself moving right now," he told her. "I've said from the start, do I see myself moving? You know, for the right person, eventually? Maybe one day, if that."

"'For the right person,' that's the issue, Adrian," Awhina responded. "Let's not hide behind this f***ing challenge," she added, referencing the fact they both met their backup partners, something Adrian doesn't feel remorseful about, but she has admitted she regrets.
"Let's not hide behind long distance, I am not the right person, say it," she said. "Say it!"
"Yeah right now, it's uncertainty," he hit back. "Would you move to Sydney?"
"Absolutely, f***ing not," she said, which makes sense, seeing as she has a son to think about, which Adrian seemingly doesn't care about.
When she asked if he saw any point in going to final vows, he said, "No! Absolutely, right this instant, no. Big no."
A tearful Awhina responded, "I don't want to be here, wasting my time anymore."
"Well, go," Adrian told her, and she walked out, with fellow bride Jamie Marinos chasing her to comfort her.
MAFS bride Awhina's twin Cleo reveals major effect Adrian had on her sister
On MAFS' Instagram, Cleo shared one simple, heartbreaking comment, slamming Adrian, writing, "He stole every bit of light."
Speaking with Yahoo Lifestyle, she elaborated, telling us, "It’s hard when someone has fed you empty promises and lies to keep you there for their own personal goals to achieve followers and fame like they had clearly shown they were after with their vision board."
Cleo also responded to people questioning why Awhina would stay with Adrian, saying, "It’s easy to say 'why stay?' but in reality this happens a lot in these kinds of relationships, and I know it’s triggering for a lot of people watching this who have suffered in relationships like this."
"My sister deserved better."
"He is such trash," one viewer replied on Instagram.
"[He] literally sucked the life out of her and it shows, so glad to see her glowing now," a third said.

"He did didn't he. She went from a vibrant lovely girl to a depleted mess," someone else added. "I've seen this happen to women who have the light sucked out of them. But the good thing is when they are free they flourish again. Here's hoping Awhina does again...and learns something along the way."
"He played her all the way to the end, smirking all the way, and got milage out of the show...That was his end game," another said.
"Been playing her from day one," one viewer agreed.
"I think this season was the most red flags we have ever seen," someone else wrote.
