One of the perks of being a professional online shopper and lifestyle editor is that I spend all day hunting down the best products to share with In The Know readers. Basically, my mind is an endless catalog of stuff — and I definitely take advantage of that by doing a little (okay, a lot) of online shopping for myself.
When it comes to online retailers, Nordstrom has always been my go-to. From popular beauty products on sale to home goods and trending brands, I always find myself with a huge Nordstrom haul every month. But since there’s so much available, it’s kind of overwhelming at times to figure out what items to buy from Nordstrom. This is why I, an expert in all things lifestyle and shopping, am here to share my May Nordstrom haul with you for a little inspo.
From the best summer dresses to a small kitchen appliance that everyone must have in their lives, shop the 28 best editor-approved items I bought from Nordstrom this month — and you should too.
1. CALPAK Astyll 3-Piece Marbled Luggage Set, $425
For years, I've gotten by on a truly impressive collection of hand-me-down luggage from my parents through the years — but my dad's old TUMI carry-on from the 90s has seen better days. I've been obsessed with this trendy hard-shell CALPAK luggage set for years. Whether I'm hopping on a plane for a weekend trip to visit my parents or going on a month-long excursion through Italy (in my dreams), I'll be covered.
2. Slip Pure Silk Pillowcase, $89
Speaking of my dad, he recently moved across the country for a new job and is still in the process of buying things for his apartment. Obviously, it's super overwhelming. I made it easier for him by buying him two of these 100% pure silk pillowcases because everyone needs a little luxury in their lives, especially when you start a new adventure.
3. Dior Addict Lip Glow Balm, $35
Yes, the Dior Addict Lip Glow Balm has gone absolutely viral on TikTok — but that's not the only reason I'm buying it. I've been hunting for the perfect soft pink lip color for years that isn't nude pink, and this is it. It's the most stunning color for a bright and fresh summer look and will hydrate your lips thanks to superhero ingredients like shea butter.
4. Open Edit Relaxed Poplin Button-Up Shirt, $49
I'm so into the colorful, oversized poplin button-up trend that we're seeing everywhere. This one (which comes in multiple colors) can be dressed up, dressed down or worn as a cover-up to the beach.
5. Open Edit Women's Cotton Poplin Pull-On Shorts, $23.40 (Orig. $39)
And what's a colorful poplin button-up shirt without its matching poplin shorts? A pair made in perfect summer trend heaven.
6. Le Creuset Set of Four 14-Ounce Stoneware Mugs, $60
Unfortunately, one too many mugs have broken on me throughout the year so it's time to finally get a uniform set. I saw this set of four Le Creuset mugs and immediately had visions of my boyfriend and I drinking coffee and eating bagels on rainy Sunday mornings for years to come.
7. Madewell The Jayna Braided Slide Sandal, $88
I dare you to find a better summer slide than this one from Madewell because you won't.
8. Nécessaire The Body Serum, $45
Body care is the name of the game this summer (at least for me). While lotion and SPF have always been in the rotation, this hyaluronic acid body serum from Nécessaire will make sure the skin below my neck is as hydrated, nourished and plump as the skin on my face.
9. Madewell Whisper Cotton V-Neck T-Shirt, $9.99 (Orig. $19.50)
If you're hunting for timeless basics that will never go out of style, a Madewell tee is an absolute must —and my collection needs replenishing.
10. Briogeo Farewell Frizz Blow Dry Perfection and Heat Protectant Crème,
The most toxic combination? My hair and humidity, which isn't the vibe as we're heading into summer. This lightweight Briogeo blow-dry cream features a nourishing blend of rosehip, argan and coconut oils that will keep that very unwanted frizz in check.
11. Open Edit Sheena Sandal, $59
Not only are these heeled sandals super cute and provide ample height to shorties like myself, but they're also allegedly very comfortable??? I'm sold.
12. smeg 50s Retro Style Two-Slice Toaster, $199.95
If you, like me, spend all of your time on #kitcheninspo Instagram, then you know how important it is to have your own smeg appliance. This chic retro toaster features two extra-wide, extra-long slots and is going to look so freaking chic on my countertop. Toast has never looked so good.
13. STAUD Leather Moon Bag, $295
Anything STAUD comes out with is a win in my eyes — especially their handbags. This leather half-moon design is just so fun in the purest of ways.
14. NIKE Blazer Low '77 Jumbo Sneaker, $95
My goal this year has been to add more colorful footwear to my wardrobe because I have a history of overbuying black boots and white sneakers. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but this pair of NIKE sneakers have the pop of color that I'm looking for.
15. SKIMS Ribbed Long Slipdress, $78
I saw a pregnant Sophie Turner wearing this dress, so obviously I have to buy it even though I am very much not pregnant right now.
16. Le Labo Santal 26 Classic Candle, $80
Last summer I was blessed to be gifted this Le Labo candle in a press package and I've never found a candle I loved more. This morning, I officially burned it to the bottom. Instead of being sad about it, I'm spending money on a new one because that's just how my mind works!
17. ASTR the Label Bubble Sleeve Smocked Blouse, $65
I had a dream about this top last night and I'm taking that as a sign from the summer fashion overlords.
18. La Mer Crème de la Mer Moisturizing Cream, $190
Confession time: I got a little too eager with a new chemical exfoliant and completely messed up my skin barrier. It's real bad, like tight, dry, red, splotchy and stinging kind of bad. My beauty editor friend convinced me that it's finally time to lean into the La Mer life to soothe my raw skin and I wholeheartedly agree.
19. Reformation Overland Camisole, $98
I've wanted this hot pink fitted top for years but always said, "Eh, I'll just buy it later." No more! Please congratulate me on finally going steady with this Reformation tank.
20. Birkenstock Barbados Slide Sandal, $39.95
While my collection of the rubber Birkenstock Arizona Waterproof sandals probably rivals that of the Birkenstock warehouse, my best friend has been trying to get me on the Barbados Slide train for years. We're convinced that this bright green colorway is going to be the glue that pulls all of my summer outfits together.
21. Tory Burch Ella Mini Straw Basket Bag, $358
Speaking of summer, this teeny straw bag from Tory Burch is the best summer bag I've ever laid my eyes on. While she is little, she can still mightily hold all of your necessities including your keys, wallet, phone, mask and sunscreen!
22. COOLA Suncare Refreshing Water Mist SPF 18 Sunscreen, $36
I'm still trying to find the best way to reapply SPF over makeup throughout the day and I've heard great things about this COOLA Water Mist with SPF 18. While I do wish the SPF protection were higher, this refreshing mist is good for all skin types and provides protection from both UVA and UVB rays. It also contains organic aloe and coconut water for a soothing experience.
23. SKIMS Fits Everybody Cheeky Briefs, $18
I love a good cheeky brief and recently bought a single pair of the SKIMS Fits Everybody Cheeky Briefs and fell madly in love. Thanks to the huge range of shades (27!), I found my perfect nude with the Mica colorway. The match is so good that you can't even see the underwear beneath my sheerest white sundresses, so I'm buying approximately 82 pairs.
24. Chanel Chance Eau Tendre Eau de Toilette Spray, $95 - $150
This bottle of Chanel Chance was my go-to perfume all through college. I ran out of the scent about a year ago and never replaced it. Why? I don't know — but I do know I miss it. The fruity and floral fragrance features notes of grapefruit, quince, jasmine and white musks for a whimsical and classically clean scent.
25. Jeffrey Campbell Dagget Western Boot, $259.99
If there was one fashion lesson to take away from Coachella this year, it's that cowboy boots and mini dresses are the perfect pair. Obviously, Jeffrey Campbell got in on the trend with this pair of Western boots and obviously, they're excellent.
26. Open Edit Ribbed Sweater Tank Dress, $59
I'm just saying, there's a very high chance this dress is going to sell out before June because it's such a perfect summer basic.
27. DASH My Pint Ice Cream Maker, $24.99
Summer is not really summer unless you're eating ice cream every day. DASH came through with this simple ice cream maker that makes a single serving in under 30 minutes and it's only $25.
28. diptyque Baies/Berries Candle, $70
We all deserve to treat ourselves to a bougie candle.
