Love Island stars' 'lingerie' bikinis leave viewers in a tizzy

Reality TV stars are known for their head-turning get-ups but two Love Island UK contestants may have pipped their peers at the post with their latest wardrobe choices.

Sophie Piper, 21, and 22-year-old Paige Turley sent viewers into a tizzy when they appeared to forgo swimwear for lacy lingerie while poolside in a recent episode of the ‘Winter Season’ of the popular dating show.

Sophie, a medical PA from Essex, and singer Paige’s bikinis were so underwear-esque that several fans were convinced that the pair were sunning themselves in their bra and knickers.

“Is Paige wearing underwear as a bikini?” wrote one viewer on Twitter.

“Sorry but this cannot be bikini [sic] that Sophie and Paige are wearing?? Is this not lace lingerie??” remarked another.

One fan, however, attempted to dispell the lingerie conspiracy by pointing out that the supposed ‘bras’ featured neck and back ties, a bikini hallmark.

“Why do people think Sophie and Paige were wearing underwear on #LoveIsland yesterday??? You can literally see the ties at the back and around the neck [sic], what kind of a bra ties like that???” they declared.

Indeed, neither star was, in fact, tanning in their undies. Sophie’s white and nude lacy number is the ‘Mille Feuille’ bikini from British swimwear brand Bahimi while Paige - who was previously linked to Brit singer Lewis Capaldi - opted for a strappy set by Ann Summers.

Paige’s swimmers are sadly sold out and Sophie’s don’t ship to Australia but we were able to find a near-match for those who dare to rock the lingerie look while taking a dip.
