Celebrating its fifteenth year, the LRF’s autumn edition includes party nights, evenings of “restaurant hopping,” wine tastings, and talks with leading chefs.
Kicking-off the festival on September 30 will be Food Fest at Market Halls, featuring Ibiza DJs and street food from the likes of Le BAB, DF Tacos, and Budgie Montoya’s latest project Apoy.
“Autumn spotlight” events will mark the capital’s latest openings, while the series will also host an evening championing “flame-forward” restaurants such as Ekstedt at The Yard, Sucre, and Caia.
Returning are the festival’s “gourmet odysseys,” where diners are taken on a six-course experience across three restaurants, and the “new stars” event, which focuses on St Barts, Cycene, and Taku, each newly awarded a Michelin star.
In celebration of London Restaurant Festival’s 15-year milestone, chefs Tomos Parry and Tom Aikens will each host a special 15-course tasting menu at Mountain and Muse respectively. And, to “honour female chefs at the forefront of the industry,” the LRF will this year put on a series called “female founders,” with Anna Haugh at Myrtle and Sally Abé leading talks.
Also involved this year are father and daughter duo Michel and Emily Roux who will be hosting a lunch at Caractère. Restaurants such as Kahani, Bossa, Arros QD, Jacuzzi, Lisboeta, Maene and Lima London will also be in the spotlight throughout the festival.
“London Restaurant Festival is a celebration of the incredible diversity of London’s culinary scene — from street food to neighbourhood eateries to Michelin-starred dining,” said festival director Chris Wright.
“Our lower-priced Trending Events proved to be extremely popular during the summer edition of the festival, so we’ve brought them back this autumn to ensure the festival offers events for everyone.”
