Lionsgate Selling ‘Orphan 3’ At AFM
Orphan 3 is reportedly happening with Isabelle Fuhrman returning to the role of Esther.
Scribe David Coggeshall and director William Brent Bell (“The Boy” franchise), who worked on the previous installment, Orphan: First Kill, are also back. Lionsgate is selling the movie at AFM with Dark Castle Entertainment producing. Storyline, like all horror movies, is under wraps.

The entire franchise between two movies has grossed $115M per Box Office Mojo. The 2009 movie was released by Warner Bros and directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and made close to $78M WW. The movie starred Vera Farmiga, Peter Sarsgaard and Fuhrman. It followed a husband and wife who recently lost their baby, and who adopt a 9-year-old girl who isn’t so innocent.
The second film, the prequel Orphan: First Kill, went day-and-date on Paramount+ and in theaters earning a total $37M WW in 2022. Fuhrman starred again with Julia Stiles. Blurb of second movie: After orchestrating a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility, Esther travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family.
