If you’ve lived through an Aussie summer, you know it can be hard to fall asleep at night.

From now until the warmest night of the year (which falls between December and January and varies between states), the temperature will rise, creating hot, uncomfy sleeping conditions.

For many of us, that will result in alternating between kicking blankets off, sleeping with just a sheet, sticking your blanket in the freezer or trying whatever method there is to stay cool.

It doesn’t need to be that hard.

If you struggle to sleep during the hotter months, you must check out the Revolutionary Cooling Blanket that’s currently blowing up on Amazon.

Elegear Revolutionary Cooling Blanket, $69.99

This blanket is made from innovative Japanese cooling fibres.

It’s a double-sided blanket - one side is silky and made from 80 per cent mica nylon and 20 per cent polyethylene.

This fibre blend cools by continuously interacting with your body temperature and regulating the material to either absorb or release heat.

The other side, perfect for flipping over once you’re feeling nice and cool, is made from 100 per cent natural cotton.

The cooling blanket uses moisture-wicking properties to evaporate any sweat into a cooling vapour.

It is also hypo-allergenic and can be used for adults, children and even long-haired pets who struggle in the summer!

Better yet, the blanket is machine washable: just put it inside a netted bag and chuck it in your machine.

The seller's hot tip is to place your blanket under the air conditioner for about 10 minutes before you go to bed - it will be so cold and refreshing as you climb under it!

What do people say?

The Elegear Cooling Blanket has more than 230 reviews, with an average rating of 4.4 out of 5.

The reviews are overwhelmingly positive for the blanket’s cooling properties.

“I love it, I tried it every night for a week and I'm so happy with it,” one reviewer said.

“It’s true! It really is cooling. I was sceptical when I purchased but I love it. Great for people who sleep too hot,” commented another.

A third said the blanket felt similar to “flipping your pillow to the cold side, with an entire blanket!”
