The most unpopular baby names of 2016 have been revealed

Baby information site BabyCentre has revealed the least trendy names of 2016.

Names that were once popular have now been listed as being unpopular as they’re yet to be registered this year.

The baby information site compiled the list by analysing baby name registration data and found the least common names of 2016 are Bertram for boys and Angela for girls.

Other uncool boy names include, Malcolm, Clarence and Duncan. While for girls, it’s names like Beverley, Carol and Debra.

Sorry Sally, Sandra and Sharon, parents these days think you’re too traditional.

And if you’re name is Neville and Nigel - don’t expect your wife to name her son after you.

BabyCentre's Managing Editor Sarah Redshaw told The Daily Mail that it’s common for baby names to become less popular over time.

“It’s inevitable that as some names rise in popularity, others fall out of fashion. The question is will they die out completely, or experience a revival in the future,” she said.

Dubbed untrendy for 2016, names like Paula and Elaine were the most popular during the ‘60s through to the ‘80s, so if you’re wanting to name your child something unusual - these names are the answer.
