Kid Fools Everyone With Epic Museum Prank

Fashion people are always doing their best to convince the world that fashion design is an art form.

Well, one amusing teen chose to take that concept literally.

TJ Khayatan, a 17-year-old high school grad from the San Francisco Bay Area, decided to test the limits of fashion- (or at least accessories-) as-art on a recent visit to the SFMoMA.

Specifically, he placed a pair of glasses on the gallery floor, only to discover that they were a hit with his fellow museum-goers.

Khayatan told Buzzfeed that it was the museum’s actual art that inspired the prank.

“Upon first arrival we were quite impressed with the artwork and paintings presented in the huge facility,” he explained.

“However, some of the ‘art’ wasn’t very surprising to some of us.

"We stumbled upon a stuffed animal on a gray blanket and questioned if this was really impressive to some of the nearby people.”

The rest is viral Internet history.

Immediately after he placed the common-looking frames on the ground, people began gathering ‘round and taking photos.

And as of Thursday morning, Khayatan’s tweets about the stunt have been shared more than 48,000 times.

Khayatan insists that he’s an art appreciator who wasn’t trying to cheapen the museum experience.

“I can agree that modern art can be a joke sometimes, but art is a way to express our own creativity,” he told BF.

“Some may interpret it as a joke, some might find great spiritual meaning in it. At the end of the day, I see it as a pleasure for open-minded people and imaginative minds.”

So what exactly have we learned here: that fashion is art, that people are sheep, or that the Internet will freak out about absolutely anything?

We’ll let you decide for yourself.
