Liam Payne Reportedly Posted Several Photos in the Hours Before His Tragic Death

Liam Payne appears to have been very active on one social media platform in the hours leading up to his untimely death.

As Parade previously reported, the former One Direction star was found dead after falling from the third-floor balcony of his hotel room in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday, according to local police. He was 31 years old.

The tragic news rocked people across the globe, especially fans who followed the singer on social media who were shocked to hear of his passing since Payne apparently had only posted one last photo about an hour before he died.

Several of the images Payne apparently shared to his public Snapchat story on Oct. 16 were screenshotted and re-posted on other social media platforms, like X (formerly Twitter), as fans grieved the sudden loss.

"This is the final photo of Liam Payne…. and this was posted an hour ago which is so scary now," one X user wrote alongside a copy of the image that has since been removed from Payne's Snapchat Story.

"this is just so crazy…liam payne was just posting so much on snapchat less than an hour ago," another shared, re-posting a selfie of the "Best Song Ever" artist.

"what do you mean liam payne just died on a random wednesday evening in buenos aires he was literally posting on snapchat like 30 minutes ago and then somehow died," a third shared in disbelief. "WHATS GOING ON?"

Reuters also reported on Wednesday that Payne had talked about riding horses, playing polo, and looking forward to returning home to see his dog, in a post discussing his "lovely day in Argentina."

The artist didn't appear to be as active on Instagram or X as he was on the mobile picture-sharing app, with his most recent upload to the Meta-owned platform dated May 29. It featured a photo of himself posing with the full One Direction group and the late Morgan Spurlock, the comments of which have since become overwhelmed with tributes from fans.

The X Factor alum's last tweet was also sentimental, thanking fans with a montage of clips showcasing some of the art that they've shared with him over the years.

The circumstances surrounding Payne's death remain uncertain and the incident at the hotel is currently under investigation, per TMZ.
