They announced their split last week leaving fans in pure shock. But now Liam Hemsworth’s family are said to be concerned the Australian actor will rekindle things with his estranged wife, Miley Cyrus.

It was a whirlwind week for the Hollywood couple, with photos appearing online just hours after their split announcement showing 26-year-old Miley kissing 30-year-old Kaitlynn Carter in Italy.

Despite this, Liam’s inner circle are said to be crossing their fingers that he won’t go running back to the Party In The USA singer.

“Miley and Liam both keep saying the word "separated", not "divorcing", which has his family really worried they're leaving the door open to get back together in the future,” a source told The Sun.

“[Their marriage] has been toxic for way too long. They're not meant to be together.”

Overnight on Friday, Miley released a scathing song about their break-up called Slide Away, which contains more than one telltale lyric pointing to the very famous subject matter.

The heartbreaking song seems to nod towards rumours that Liam’s ‘wild partying’ really was behind the breakup.

The artwork shows bottles of booze and pills bobbing around a pool and she also sings, “I want my house in the hills / Don't want the whiskey and pills / I don't give up easily but I don't think I'm down."

The rumours flew in the face of assumptions that exuberant Miley was the wild child in the relationship.

“Everyone always thinks Miley is problematic and immature and a hardcore partier while he’s this chill surfer dude, but that’s actually [not accurate],” a friend of the couple told People magazine.

“Liam parties with his friends, and Miley thinks he should’ve grown out of that by now.”
