Liam Hemsworth gushes about his 'sweet angel' wife Miley Cyrus

Just when we thought Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth couldn’t get any cuter, the Aussie actor has gushed over his singer wife on stage in LA.

The loved-up pair, who married in secret over Christmas, made their first official appearance together as a married couple at the G’Day USA Los Angeles Gala over the weekend, alongside Isla Fisher, 5 Seconds of Summer and John Travolta.

The 29-year-old, who was being honoured for his contribution to the film industry, took to the stage to accept his award, where he called 26-year-old Miley his wife for the first time in public.

“I’m so lucky to have such great people around me and I don’t take it for granted. I feel very fortunate,” Liam said in his speech.

“Thank you to my beautiful wife. You are a sweet, sweet angel. Yeah, I love ya, you’re great.”

As the crowd shouted and clapped in response, Miley started to heckle her hubbie, jokingly telling him to ‘talk some more about me’.

“I’ll tell you later,” Liam laughed.

Earlier in the night, Miley and Liam were roasted by Vince Vaughn for not inviting him to their secret nuptials in December.

Liam and Vince were co-stars on their upcoming film Arkansas, and while Vince thought they had formed a firm friendship, he joked that that must not have been the case at all.

“We’re obviously not that great of a mate-ship because I wasn’t invited to the wedding,” Vaughn joked.

“I don’t know. That may or may not have happened. I don’t know.”

Later in his speech, Vince made reference to the couple’s wedding again, saying: “His first leading role was in 2010 — The Last Song — which won him a Teen Choice award.

“And that’s also where he met Miley, who he might or might not be married to. I would not know, personally, because I was not invited to this wedding that may or may not have happened.”

Their wedding is thought to have taken place in Miley’s Tennessee family home, with the star wearing a custom-made $8,600 Vivienne Westwood gown.

The pair were surrounded by friends and family, including Liam’s two brothers, Chris and Luke.
