Liam Gallagher has announced that he is returning to Knebworth Park and that it’s going to be “biblical”. The Manchester rocker has also added a second date as tickets go on sale.

The singer and songwriter played Knebworth with Oasis in 1996, performing to 250,000 people over a weekend in August.

He will now take to the stage alone on 4 June 2022 for what is thought to be his biggest solo show yet. The second show, newly added to the date, will take place on Friday, 3 June. He will be supported by Kasabian both nights. Michael Kiwanuka, Fat White Family and Goat Girl will also play the Saturday.

Gallagher, 49, tweeted: “I'm absolutely buzzing to announce that on 4th June 2022 I'll be playing Knebworth.

“It's gonna be biblical.

“C'mon You Know. LG x.”

Gallagher is also set to release his new solo album, 'C'mon You Know', next year.

Speaking to Chris Moyles on Radio X, he said he was excited about returning to the site of his most famous shows.

“The beautiful thing about it is, I couldn't remember much about the first time, so I get the chance to do it again,” he said.

“Obviously I'm older and a little bit wiser. I'm gonna milk it, really take it in.”

The star found fame with brother Noel in Oasis, which formed in Manchester in 1991 and had huge hits such as 'Wonderwall' and 'Don't Look Back In Anger'.

The band split acrimoniously in 2009 and the brothers have been locked in a war of words since then.

They both went on to have successful solo careers since going their separate ways, Liam as the lead singer of Beady Eye and Noel with the band High Flying Birds.

Fans were thrilled to hear that Liam is returning to the venue in Stevenage, and some speculated about whether Noel might join him.

"It's only going to be biblical if Noel's there," tweeted one, while another asked: "Just you or ???"

"Any chance you can bring Noel along with you to make it worthwhile?" said another.
