Where Mercury goes, our thoughts follow

You have probably heard about Mercury retrograde, right? It’s when the planet of communications appears to reverse in the skies and life can go a bit mad. But what about Mercury when it’s just being Mercury and not being retrograde? Mercury is the communications planet. Whenever you open your mouth to talk, or when you write something – anything from an SMS to a novel or beyond – or even if you just think or listen to someone, you’re using your Mercury. It’s the mind planet and it guides how you talk, write, otherwise express yourself and take in information. It’s your intellectual process. The sign and house Mercury is in will tell you how you think and express yourself, and even how you negotiate. (From my best-selling book Astrology Made Easy). So now Mercury is changing signs, moving from Pisces and back into the first sign of Aries. This affects us all in different ways. PS This is a day to definitely read your Rising Sign if you know it (or find it out here if you don’t!)

What does Mercury’s move into Aries mean for you?…

The move of Mercury now is good news for you. If you’ve been feeling like you’ve had just about all you can take lately, your horizons are about to widen and you’re about to get a break! The intensity of the past few weeks happened because Mercury was in an intense part of your chart. Now is Mercury moves, life is about to ease off. The people around you are about to ease off. You no longer have to consider face dark and/or scary facts every time you open your mouth. If you’ve spend the past few weeks tackling intense issues until your head hurts, pat yourself on the back and move on. It’s time to think about all that you’ve learned – this is the start of a four week period when exchanging ideas with others will expand your mind and teach you all kinds of amazing things about yourself and The World We Live In. If you’re about to head off on a journey, you are in perfect timing with the Cosmos. It could be a trip which really opens your mind to the word beyond your backyard. Ditto if you’re about to start a course of study or self-improvement. It’s like someone’s showing you a new area in your brain which you never used before.
