Lee Lin Chin to depart from SBS after nearly 30 years

After nearly 30 years at SBS, Lee Lin Chin has announced she is departing the network.

This Sunday is set to be her last time on World News for SBS.

Lee Lin insisted there was no one specific reason as to why she is departing the network and that it’s down to “many small to medium-sized reasons”.

“There’s not one big reason, there’s many small to medium-sized reasons, which for the time being I wish to keep to myself but may talk about one day,” she told Ten Daily.

And while the news will come as a shock to many, Lee Lin admitted it is a decision that has been on her mind “for a number of years now”.

As to why it has taken her so long to come to her decision to leave, it’s because of her loyal following.

“The reason why it took so long was because of the fans,” she told the online outlet. “Every day at least five people will approach me and say that they love me on the news and that they watch every week.”

In 2016 she was nominated for a Gold Logie award.

There is no confirmation if Lee Lin is jumping ship to another network.

Although she did admit to Ten Daily she would be more than happy to help out with Network Ten’s news “on a casual basis”.

She jokingly added she could help “give Ten a ratings boost”.
