No one dominates the snack aisle like Lay’s. The PepsiCo brand keeps shelves stocked with a range of flavors and textures that always keep us wanting more. This year alone, Lay’s brought back its global flavors trio, relaunched Crispy Taco chips, and permanently added Cajun Spice kettle chips to the lineup.

Now, another beloved Lay’s chip is making a comeback and it will bring you right to the nostalgic intersection between childhood and the holiday season.

Lay’s Brings Back Crunch Tators

Lay’s Crunch Tators are returning to shelves for a limited time. The extra crunchy potato chips were popular in the ‘90s, but their feature in the first “Home Alone” movie launched the chip to iconic status.

For those unfamiliar, the classic Christmas movie follows 8-year-old Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin), who gets accidentally left behind when his family embarks on a holiday trip to Paris. The clever character is left to his own devices for a few days, leaving him plenty of time to order pizza, take a solo trip to the grocery store, and surround himself with his favorite treats, including an ice cream sundae, a Pepsi, and Crunch Tators—all while outsmarting a pair of determined burglars.

This year, fans will have the opportunity to enjoy three flavors of Crunch Tators—Original, BBQ Mighty Mesquite, and Hoppin’ Jalapeno. Instagrammer @Markie_Devo posted about the drop with his initial thoughts. “I thought the original ones were good, they have a nice crunch. The BBQ ones are tasty. It’s worth the change, ya filthy animal,” he said, referencing a famous line from the movie.

Fans on Reddit have also been sharing their excitement about the snack returning to stores. “I used to love these growing up!” said one Redditor. Many others echoed the sentiment as they reflected on the nostalgic crunchy snack. “I loved the salted ones when I was a kid and have missed these since they disappeared, much sadness. I recently had the Ruffles Double Crunch original, and the taste sent me back to Crunch Tators. It’s been over 35 years, and my taste buds have not forgotten!”

Crunch Tators are available at Dollar General stores nationwide, but you’ll have to act fast because they will only be available for a limited time. If your location doesn’t have them in stock yet, don’t worry—they’re still rolling out, so be sure to check back in a few days.
