Laura Benanti Says She "Never Liked" Zachary Levi, And Her Reason Is Pretty Brutal

You know Laura Benanti from tons of things. She's a star of the stage and screen, and she even won a friggin' Tony back in 2008 for her performance in Gypsy.

Whether you like it or not, you probably also know actor Zachary Levi, who recently starred in a few high-profile flops before going full MAGA and supporting Donald Trump with his whole chest.

So, back in 2016 Laura was the lead in a Broadway revival of the musical She Loves Me — and Zachary was one of her costars during the production.

During a recent appearance on That's a Gay Ass Podcast, Laura revealed that — surprise, surprise — she was not a huge fan of Zachary well before he started acting like such a tool in public.

“I never liked him," she said. "Everyone was like, ‘He’s so great!’ And I was like, ‘No, he’s not. He’s sucking up all the fucking energy in this room.'"

Laura went on to claim that Zachary tried "to mansplain everybody’s part to them," and that he also attempted to hold regular dance parties that she was not a fan of. “He really sucked everybody in with his dance party energy, like, ‘We’re doing a dance party at half-hour,’" she recalls. "I was like, ‘Good luck, have fun.’”

So, you may also recall that beloved Broadway actor Gavin Creel passed away this year at the age of 48, after battling a metastatic melanotic peripheral nerve sheath sarcoma.

Shortly after Gavin's death, Zachary made the highly detestable move of going on IG Live and implying that Gavin died because of the COVID-19 vaccine. He also referred to the actor — who starred in the production of She Loves Me alongside Laura and Zachary — as his "friend."

Unsurprisingly, Laura was also not happy about this. “For him to use Gavin’s memory — a person he was not friends with — to use his memory for his political agenda and to watch him try to make himself cry until he had one single tear, which he did not wipe away, I was like, ‘Fuck you forever,'” she said.
