‘Lanterns’: Garret Dillahunt Joins DC Series For HBO

EXCLUSIVE: Garret Dillahunt (Fear The Walking Dead) has been tapped for a major recurring role in Lanterns, HBO’s drama series based on the Green Lantern DC comic. He joins leads Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre and series regular Kelly MacDonald.

The series, from Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King, follows new recruit John Stewart (Pierre) and Lantern legend Hal Jordan (Chandler), two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.

Dillahunt will play modern cowboy William Macon, a self-righteous, conspiracy-minded man who masks his ruthless ambition behind a charming and calculated facade. Macdonald plays Sheriff Kerry.

The eight-episode Lanterns is produced by HBO in association with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios. Mundy, who serves as showrunner, Lindelof and King are co-writing and executive producing. James Hawes is directing the first two episodes and also exec producing.

Dillahunt is starring in Robert O’Hara’s new play Shit. Meet. Fan., which is having its world premiere off-Broadway at the MCC Theater. He is also recurring on ABC’s hot new crime series High Potential and Peacock’s comedy horror-thriller Hysteria!. Dillahunt is repped by D2 Management and IAG.
