Del Rey and Dufrene have known each other for several years, with the “Summertime Sadness” singer posting pictures with the captain on Facebook as far back as 2019 after taking one of his wildlife tours.

In August 2024, a Reddit user snapped a photo of the two eating lunch together in London. A TikTok user then shared a brief video of the singer walking hand-in-hand with a Dufrene at the Leeds Festival.

Days later, Del Rey responded to an Instagram post about their reported relationship that originally asked in the caption, "What’s your take on this developing relationship? Are these new details raising any red flags for you?"

In a comment on the post, she simply wrote, "no."

Dufrene is an airboat captain with Arthur's Airboat Tours in Louisiana. As a captain, he guides tourists through the swamps and marshes, offering an intimate experience with the local wildlife, including alligators, herons, egrets and over 300 species of birds, the company notes.

According to his bio, Dufrene previously worked at a chemical plant but found his true calling as an airboat captain.

“He quickly realized that this was a great fit and he has never thought of going back to his previous career at the plant,” his bio states.

He's a father

In addition to his work as an airboat captain, Dufrene is also a father. He has two daughters and a son from a previous relationship.

He and Del Rey have known each other since at least 2019

Del Rey and Dufrene have known each other for several years. In 2019, the singer posted photos on Facebook from an airboat tour she took with Dufrene, jokingly captioning one of the pictures, "Jeremy lemme be captain at Arthur’s Air Boat Tours."
