Lady Gaga's new charity clothing collab is raising money for global mental health
Australian brand, Cotton On, has just given us two of our favourite things. A charity collection that *actually* donates money to a good cause, and Lady Gaga. Yep, the singer's non-profit Born This Way Foundation (that she set up with her mother Cynthia Bissett Germanotta in 2012) has partnered with Cotton On Foundation (the philanthropic arm of the brand) to create a small but stylish range of limited-edition products.
The best part? 100% of the net proceeds will be donated to Born This Way Foundation to tackle global youth mental health resources and support. An issue Lady Gaga not only discusses in her lyrics but has spoken openly about.
Naturally, the designs have been inspired by this mission with the capsule collection that includes a denim jacket, caps and tote bags all printed with the slogan, 'Kinder, Braver, Together'. And they're all modelled by Lady Gaga herself.
Speaking of the collab, Lady Gaga said, "We are constantly working to uplift the stories of young people worldwide, and through this partnership, we invite everyone to practice kindness and learn how to better support one another. Our research tells us that kindness is one way we can support each others’ mental health.”
With one in seven young people aged between 10 and 19 experiencing mental health challenges worldwide, particularly depression and anxiety, the aim of the collection is not only to raise awareness and prioritise mental health, but give younger generations the tools to take action given many young people currently struggling are unable to access support services.
But the limited-edition capsule collection will only be available from 1 September until World Mental Health Day on 10 October. So what are you waiting for? Shop the Born This Way Foundation designs now.
