Lady Gaga Reveals Why She Thinks It's 'Fun to Embrace the Challenge of Being a 38-Year-Old Pop Star'

"I really want to be a voice that deserves to be part of our community," said the Grammy and Oscar winner while promoting her upcoming film, 'Joker: Folie à Deux'

Lady Gaga is aging with pride.

In a new interview with Buzzfeed Canada to promote her upcoming film Joker: Folie à Deux, the Grammy and Oscar winner opened up about why she enjoys being a 38-year-old pop superstar — as well as the difficulties that come along with the position.

Predicting what the next 15 years of her life will look like, Gaga referenced her fiancé, Michael Polansky, as she said, "I am so happy to be in love, and I’m so excited to have a family, so that’s definitely number one. But also, I really believe in the ability to grow as a person."

"I think that feeling can give everybody hope, and I just want to keep growing, too," said the "Bad Romance" singer-songwriter. "And also, I’m 38 years old, and it’s kind of fun to embrace the challenge of being a 38-year-old pop star and figuring out who I want to be now and what I want to say because I really love women."

Gaga then declared, "I really want to be a voice that deserves to be part of our community."

Elsewhere in the conversation, the A Star Is Born actress reminisced on writing The Manifesto of Little Monsters, a text shared with fans in the super deluxe box set version of 2010's The Fame Monster.

At the time, Gaga wrote that she's "something of a devoted Jester" within the "kingdom" of her fans — and she still connects with the statement today.

"I love being an entertainer — like, truly, in my heart, and I always have, whether I was singing for people eating at a table next to me and my family growing up in a restaurant, or when I made it to a piano recital or made it on my own stage," she said.

"It’s not a job for me," explained Gaga. "It’s just a total gift because it’s how I found a sense of safety for myself in my life. It’s what makes me feel protected, so my relationship with my fans and why that makes me choked up is it reminds me of the deep connection that we have, and also feeling really understood by all of you, that you remember those things."

Joker: Folie à Deux comes to theaters Oct. 4.

Gaga will release a conceptual companion album, Harlequin, inspired by her character in the film, Harleen "Lee" Quinzel (a.k.a. Harley Quinn), on Sept. 27.
