Kyle Sandilands recalls red carpet interview with ‘arrogant’ A-list actor

Shock jock Kyle Sandilands has detailed the disastrous red carpet interview he did with a major Hollywood celebrity he “hated”.

The 50-year-old called Irish actor Pierce Brosnan an “a**ehole” on-air on Monday morning after recalling their trainwreck interview, which involved Kyle making a huge mistake.

The conversation began on Kyle and Jackie O when Australian actor George Lazenby was mentioned, who was the second person to portray the character of James Bond back in 1969.

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson then detailed the moment she and Kyle spoke to Pierce Brosnan, the fifth actor to play James Bond from 1995 to 2002, and were “schooled” about the history of the on-screen secret agent.

“We were on the red carpet and Kyle’s first question to Pierce was, ‘Pierce, why do you reckon there's been no Australians doing James Bond?’” she began.

“He goes, ‘Well in fact, how could you not know that, you're Australian. There is.’ And then he gave us a big spiel about George Lazenby.”

“A big bulls**t long toffee-nosed answer and I thought, you know what? I can’t stand you mate,” Kyle replied. “Hated him.”

Kyle went on to say that he will “never forget” that moment and called Pierce “the s**t Bond actor”.

“Oh what an a**ehole that guy was,” he added.

“You didn’t like him after that because he corrected you,” Jackie said.

“No, it wasn’t that he was correcting me,” Kyle replied. “It was the a**ehole arrogant attitude. As if I give a s**t. Like, as if I should know every man that ever played James Bond.

“I don't know what that bloke even looks like. “

On-air prank went awry

The James Bond discussion comes shortly after Jackie burst into tears live on-air after Kyle's prank backfired.

Jackie had previously complained about the ‘scumbag’ in her neighbourhood who had put trash in her bins, so Kyle organised for a KIIS employee to call into the show and pretend to be one of her angry neighbours.

“I just want to ring up and say thanks for the blast on the radio,” the caller began her outburst, which lasted for a very tense two and a half minutes. “I’m pretty pissed really.”

After it was revealed to be a prank, the Masked Singer judge immediately started crying.

“I thought the whole street hated me,” she said through tears. “I don’t even know why I’m crying, must be hormones or something.

“She was being so mean, I thought oh my god, everyone hates me in the street. I don’t want that, nobody ever wants that.”
