Kristin Cavallari isn’t afraid to acknowledge when a romantic relationship isn’t working.

The Laguna Beach star, 37, revealed on her Let's Be Honest podcast that she is single, despite saying that she was “kind of dating someone” a few weeks ago. She also shared her reasoning for moving on so quickly after a breakup.

“I don't think that— it's that I'm not ready,” she said. “I think … if I feel one thing is wrong [or] is missing, I'm not wasting my time and my energy on someone.”

“I'm very quick to end things. Very,” she added. “Even sometimes my friends are like, ‘Jesus. Okay.’ Like, there's no chill. I'm like, ‘No. This isn't working for me.’”

The Truly Simple author went on to say that her friends have suggested she “slowly pull away” instead of ending things quickly, but Cavallari likened doing that to “playing a game” — something she did not want to do.

“I'd rather just be an adult and have an adult conversation, and be like, ‘Hey. Here's where I'm at, you know, and just end things,’” she explained. “So that's done. And I do think if the right person came along, I would be ready to date, but I'm not actively looking to date right now.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Cavallari noted that she understood the “guy mentality” and their “game” to some “degree,” possibly since she had an older brother. She also explained how that has affected her outlook on relationships.

“I think for a long time, I was so afraid of getting my heart broken that then I became the heartbreaker,” she explained. “I think it's just a combination of things. I also just have masculine energy when it comes to this stuff…”

“You know, I always had really good guy friends, and just hearing the way that they would talk also is like, ‘Oh, wow. This is fascinating to me,’” she added.

The Very Cavallari alum was previously married to Jay Cutler from 2013 to 2022, and the pair share three kids: Camden, Jaxon and Saylor. Cavallari also dated TikTok star Mark Estes, whom she split from in September.

Cavallari said on a podcast episode that she initiated the breakup "because I just know long-term it's not right, and it's not because of love lost or something bad happened."

"He's been the best boyfriend I've ever had. I just know long-term he needs to experience life, he's young," the Uncommon James founder added, referring to the 13-year age gap between them. "I started to feel the age a little bit with life experience."
