Kmart mum shares 'clever' vase taping hack: 'Fantastic!'

Receiving a bouquet of flowers is always a lovely thing, but, after you’ve brought them home and thrown them in a vase, that beautiful bunch of blooms tends to look a little... sad.

From unruly roses to floppy stems and wayward greenery, it’s not easy to corral everything into position in the vase — particularly if it has a wider neck.

You don’t need to be a trained florist, however, to give your next floral arrangement a professional edge. As a crafty Kmart fan has shown, you just need a roll of sticky tape.

Carolina McCauley from Perth wowed her Instagram followers by sharing a quick and easy hack for making sure your blooms look picture-perfect every single time.

She simply placed three or four strips of tape across the opening of a pink Kmart vase then repeated the same step in the opposite direction to create a grid.

Next, she popped individual stems into each grid ‘square’ which kept them nice and secure and prevented them from flopping to one side. She kept adding flowers until the grid was hidden from view.

After trimming off any excess tape around the top of the vase, the flowers were ready to be put on display.

Fans of Carolina’s nifty idea took to the comments section to share their praise.

“Great hack, thank you for sharing,” wrote one.

Another called it “so clever” while a third dubbed it “Fantastic!!”
