Kevin Hart wouldn’t change his approach to Tom Brady's recent Roast special — despite how the former football star feels about it.

The comedian and actor, 45, shared his sympathies with Brady, 46, over his regret in taking part in Netflix's The Greatest Roast of All Time and how it impacted his family in a new interview, while insisting that Brady star's treatment on the special was “necessary.”

Hart — who was the first to take aim at Brady in the May special, including joking about his divorce from Gisele Bündchen — told Bleacher Report: “When he says he regretted doing it … I think what he’s referring to is saying, ‘I could have tapered it a little differently, having a conversation pre-, of like, ‘Guys, let’s go and do this, but let’s not touch this."

“The idea of going all in and just saying, ‘I don’t care, because I know the world would love to see me being on the receiving end of s—,’ … I think it was that,” he explained of Brady's attitude afterward. “But what it did for comedy and our climate of sensitivity, I think was necessary and valuable.”

Hart said that he can “see where [Brady’s] coming from” considering the current social climate “and just him wanting to protect, the idea of family and the conversation attached to that.”

“... I know his response and saying something about it was a result of possibly that," guessed Hart. "But that [special] made people comfortable with a joke being a joke.”

He concluded that the experience was a “learning lesson” for Brady.
