Kerry Washington has a proposal for anyone still looking for the perfect pair of fall boots. Last night at Los Angeles's Sunset Tower, the Scandal star celebrated Tod's latest collection with creative director Matteo Tamburini and arrived in what may just be the best boot we've seen all season. Hitting just below her knees and toeing the line between looking like a pair of riding boots and super-chic rain gear, the boots were shiny (but not too shiny) and had the perfect not-too-tall chunky heel and soft, round toe.

Washington paired the footwear with another seasonal pick: a leather dress in a rich, deep oxblood shade. Her leather dress featured fringe details and a waist-cinching belt as well as a plunging V-neckline and wrap silhouette. Soft shoulders and a stand-up collar offered a touch of power dressing and she paired the festive look with a big bag and huge statement earrings.

The actress coordinated her dress to her beauty look, which meant matching the color of her lips to her look almost exactly. Big, teased hair topped it all off, but Washington kept things polished by pushing her hair back and letting it cascade down her back.

The party included guests like Rachel Zoe, Matt Bomer, Scott Speedman, and Kelly Rowland, who were toasting the latest drop from Tamburini. Tod's may be most known for its signature bumpy-soled gommino driving shoe, but Tamburini is the latest name to expand the line's ready-to-wear offerings after his predecessor, Walter Chiapponi, left the brand for Blumarine.
