If you thought it was a regular Friday, you were mistaken. Kendrick Lamar caught everyone by surprise, releasing a new album GNX.

Kendrick Lamar, who will also perform in the 2025 Super Bowl, did no promotion whatsoever before this album dropped unexpectedly. While his name was in the news quite a bit after a very public beef with Drake, he did not even announce that a new project was on the way.

The album is 12 songs and 44 minutes long and the description listed with the album reads:

He asked us to "watch the party die," but only so he could resurrect it.

This was a pleasant twist for his fans who had not heard a new album from K-Dot since Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers in 2022.

GNX is his sixth studio album and it came out under the labels PGLang and Interscope. It is his first album that Lamar has released since he officially left Top Dawg.

Many of the songs on the album were produced by Jack Antonoff.
