Kelsea Ballerini Hosts Cozy Thanksgiving with Boyfriend Chase Stokes — and Special Guest Kenny Chesney
The singer prepared her own turkey for the first time and ended the night with some karaoke as she hosted Thanksgiving with her 'Outer Banks' star boyfriend
Kelsea Ballerini hosted a motley crew of loved ones for Thanksgiving this year.
The country singer spent the holiday with her boyfriend Chase Stokes, fellow country star Kenny Chesney, her mom and a group of friends that included Alysa Vanderheym, who worked with Ballerini on her latest album, Patterns.
Ballerini gave fans a peek into her holiday celebration at her home in Nashville in a Nov. 29 Instagram post as she shared a carousel of 15 photos from her turkey day — and the rowdy karaoke that ended the night.
This year was the first time Ballerini, 31, had ever cooked her own turkey, she revealed on her Instagram Stories as she shared a screenshot of her texts with her costars from The Voice, Adam Levine and Michael Bublé. In the caption of her post, she rated her bird a "5/10."
The clear highlight of her day was the "Thanksgiving karaoke" she and her loved ones did in front of a lit-up Christmas tree. She rated that a "1000/10" in the caption, as she wrote, "Grateful for so so much, mostly the love that we get and we give away. 🤍."
Along with some shots of her prepping her turkey, Ballerini's post also included a sweet photo of Stokes, 32, hugging her from behind as she showed off her cooked bird and a group shot of Ballerini, Stokes, Vanderheym and another friend cuddled up on the couch with her dog, Dibs, getting in on the action.
She also shared a photo of her and Chesney, 56, as she embraced the singer — with whom she toured on his I Go Back tour last year — while standing in her kitchen.
Loved ones aside, having her furry friend with her to celebrate the holiday was especially important for Ballerini, as she revealed in August that her 9-year-old dog has inoperable cancer in his heart.
"Thankful this little dude had his 9th Thanksgiving," she wrote over a cute photo of Dibs dressed in glasses and a red sweater she posted on her Stories. "Thankful for the love and consistency and joy he's brought to me and so many people around us. He's my little turkey forever."

In September, Stokes told PEOPLE that the couple were "just taking it day by day right now" amid Dibs' diagnosis, and Ballerini said in her initial post that her pup is "not in pain" but was taking "the 'big' meds" to continue to be pain-free.
"It's one of those things that when it happens as fast as it does, you just try to do the next right thing," Stokes said.
