"So I asked my band if we could make like more of a country version of it," the American Idol winner said in an Instagram clip from the episode on Wednesday, Nov. 13. "But I love that song and I love when a song is so good that you can kind of go into different genres with it."
She then thanked Carpenter for releasing the song and for letting her cover it.
Per usual, Clarkson's fans were completely blown away by her vocals yet again, with tons of her followers begging her to "Please Please Please" keep the "top notch" covers coming.
"I NEED a full album of covers please please please 🙌," one person implored, while another added, "you are unreal and I need Sabrina singing with you!"
"Goosebumps every time I hear you sing 😍❤️" another fan gushed.
Someone else wrote, "I love the original, but this makes it so new!"
"Wow! What a COVER! 👏👏👏👏. Kelly strikes again!" another user echoed, while someone else chimed in to say, "Boom! Done. Again. Every single time. What a gift you have👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼."
