Keith Urban serenades sick fan who couldn't make his concert

Keith Urban has always been a man with a big heart, and he proved that once again when he serenaded a woman who was too sick to attend his concert.

Marissa English – who’s not a fan, but a superfan of the country singer – had originally bought tickets to see Keith perform in Ohio, USA, last Thursday night.

However, the 25-year-old was sadly unable to attend due to her rapidly deteriorating health, and needed to remain in hospice care.

So when nurses rallied bring her to Keith’s attention via social media, he responded in the sweetest way possible.

Before he was due to be on stage that Thursday night, the 50-year-old singer made a quick stop via the hospital to meet his ‘biggest fan’ and offered her her own private concert.

In a video of the visit, Keith is seen kneeling by Marissa’s bedside, serenading her with his song, ‘Blue Ain’t Your Color,’ while he gently held her hand.

Later at his concert, Keith told the crowd of the moment he got to meet his ‘biggest’ fan, “a beautiful girl named Marissa.”

“We’re going to dedicate this whole show tonight to her, to Marissa,” he told the audience which included some members of her family and ICU nurses who reached out to him.

Marissa has battled illness for the most part of her life, with WTOL-11 reporting that she was born with a “myriad of health conditions including water and an inoperable cyst on her brain, severe scoliosis and cerebral palsy.”

According to her mum, Marlise Matthews, Marissa has a collection of Keith Urban memorabilia from previous concerts and sleeps by a pillow that has one of his merchandise T-shirts on it.

“It’s actually cute because she’ll pick up the pillow and hug it and kiss it (and) … she’ll point at it and say ‘Mr. Hottie.’” her mum told WTOL-11.
