Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen suffered an ankle injury in practice this week, according ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The injury is reportedly not considered serious or expected to cost Allen regular season playing time, but he could miss the rest of the Chargers’ preseason.

The seventh-year wideout posted 1,196 receiving yards and six touchdowns last year for the Chargers, catching 97 of 136 targets. He had reportedly been having a strong training camp up to this point.

Allen did not appear in the Chargers’ preseason opener and, given that starters rarely play in the preseason finale, he’ll almost certainly see his first game action of the year during the regular season.
