Katie Holmes's Cozy Winter Outfit Broke a Major Fashion Rule
And she can't be stopped.
Katie Holmes's sense of style doesn't just start and end at fall. The queen of cozy looks dialed her fashion sense up a notch with the turn of a new month, and started off the month of December in a practical outfit before officially diving head first into a series of holiday ready looks.
The Our Town star was spotted in New York City on December 1, fully embracing the sudden drop in temperature, in an outfit that was equal parts chic and pragmatic. The actress donned an oversized, fuzzy teddy bear jacket in every New Yorker's favorite color—black, of course—while simultaneously breaking a major fashion rule for her layers underneath the jacket.
Under the coat, Homes wore a head to toe white outfit that consisted of a white button down and matching pants, going against the age old rule of wearing white after Labor Day. She also repeated the shade with a stylish handbag, and further accessorized with a black scarf tucked into her collar, black aviator sunglasses to protect her eyes from the bright winter sun, and wore pointed black boots on her feet,
Holmes's fuzzy jacket is far from the only statement coat she's worn in recent weeks once the temperature dropped. In November, the Dawson's Creek actress was spotted wearing a bright mustard yellow plaid jacket that featured a black and brown checkered pattern, and wore the bright coat with a pair of polarizing pants—leggings—and brown boots.
Back in September, Holmes also wore a Joey Potter-approved outfit that consisted primarily of a green quilted jacket with hot pink fur trim on the collar.
Continuing her laid back vibe, the actress paired that looks with dark denim and a quaint $35 tote bag from L.L. Bean.
