Katie Holmes has made herself at home in New York's Theater District while performing on Broadway — and she's been welcomed as a regular by a local Starbucks staff.
The actress, 45, appeared on The Tonight Show on Wednesday, Nov. 27 to talk to Jimmy Fallon about her current stint in a Broadway run of Our Town. When asked about her Holmes' pre-show rituals, Holmes began by describing her first stop at a particular Starbucks shop on Eighth Avenue in New York City.
"They're so lovely," she said of the staff at the coffee spot. "Every time I go in, they know me and I know them, and they wish me a great show."
She said she then heads straight to the stage to rehearse all of her lines twice, having already run through them "about three times at home."

Explaining why her practice routine is so thorough, Holmes added, "One time I didn't do it, and I was in the middle of a scene and I just said the whole line except the last word. I couldn't remember it, and I made something up, but it didn't make sense."

During her recent chat with Fallon, Holmes said she keeps up with her busy Broadway schedule — eight shows per week — thanks to her solid napping abiltiies. She shared that "early on" in her Broadway return, she scoped out the theater's basement and found a couch that could accommodate her intermittent resting routine.
She's a deep sleepe,r too; Holmes noted that she once accidentally napped during an ongoing meeting with her castmates.
"I get worried in between shows. That's why I set the alarm, because the show could start, and I wouldn't know," she told Fallon.
