Kate Middleton's Brother James Offers Rare Update on Princess' Cancer Journey

As fans of Kate Middleton patiently wait for the princess to fully return to royal duties after completing her chemotherapy treatment, Kate's younger brother James shared a rare update about her health.

James spoke with NBC News’ Kelly Cobiella on Today while discussing his new book, Meet Ella, sharing a little about how Kate is feeling.

“She’s doing okay,” he said. "It’s not for me to share on her behalf, you know, how everything’s going. But she’s getting all the right support and focus that she needs. And like anything, it takes time to process.”

While James didn't go into detail about Kate or her cancer journey, his comments were reassuring to many who are wishing her well as she slowly gets better. He was also asked about a post he made in support of Kate when she initially revealed her cancer diagnosis in March.

James shared a throwback photo of himself and his older sister hiking, writing the meaningful message, "Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too ⛰️❤️."

He told Cobiella more about the note, saying, "I like the metaphor of climbing a mountain. It’s something that we’ve done as a family all of our lives. And you have to respect a mountain.”

Fans appreciated James' message and how he delivered it, with a comment on Today's YouTube clip of the interview saying, "Catherine is so lucky to have such a supportive and respectful brother. I'm sure that William feels the same about James."

"James was respectful of his sister's privacy. That is how it is done, the Middleton's raised a beautiful family," said another.

Kate announced that she completed chemotherapy at the start of September 2024, with the princess spotted at a church service with her family a few weeks after.
