How Kate Middleton went against the royal family on her wedding day
Her wedding to Prince William in 2011 was the royal nuptials of dreams but it seems there was a bit of tension behind palace doors with one of Kate’s choices.
Thousands of people gathered to watch the loved-up pair say ‘I do’ at Westminster Abbey on the 29th of April.
And while we all may have swooned over Kate’s Alexander McQueen lace gown and her tumbling waves, palace officials were reportedly shaking their heads with disapproval at this one thing.
“Royal sources tell me that the royals indicated very strongly to Kate that they would prefer her to wear her hair up for this very special occasion,” Ashley Pearson, a reporter in a new documentary, called William & Kate: The Journey, said.
“However, Kate had her heart set on wearing her hair down with long flowing curls, which is her favourite way to wear it, and actually William’s favourite as well. They ended up compromising on her look.”
The compromise was that Kate swept the hair away from her face in a half-up, half-down style.
However, for her reception, the stunning bride let her curls hang loose, after she changed into a stunning second dress.
It’s also been claimed recently that Meghan Markle was a ‘difficult’ bride before her wedding to Prince Harry back in May.
According to The Sun, the now Duchess of Sussex had her heart set on one of the emerald tiara’s from the Queen’s collection, however, her hopes were shut down.
“She gets what tiara she’s given by me,” a source claimed the Queen told Prince Harry.
“The Queen also questioned why Meghan needed a veil for the wedding, given it was to be her second marriage’, the source continued.
It came after it was previously that Prince Harry told royal staff in Kensington Palace that ‘what Meghan wants, Meghan gets’.
