Kate dazzles in recycled Alexander McQueen dress

Kate Middleton has served up another relatable fashion moment, stepping out in a recycled Alexander Mcqueen gown to celebrate London’s National Portrait Gallery’s annual gala.

The Duchess is famous for her love of art and has served as the gallery’s royal patron for seven years.

At last night’s gala the royal fashion icon dazzled in a familiar black floral number paired with relaxed, tumbling curls.

If you think you’ve seen the gown before, you’re not quite wrong. The Duchess of Cambridge donned a slightly slinkier version of the gown for the 2017 BAFTAS, choosing to pair the gown with a more formal updo at the event.

She appears to have since altered the off-the-shoulder design, opting for a more modest capped sleeve for the Gallery’s biggest night.

The duchess is often praised for her practical and relatable approach to fashion, but this clever adjustment is a whole new level of thrifty fashion.

It’s unsure if the royal icon altered the dress herself but we wouldn’t be surprised given her hands-on approach to everything from parenting to royal duties.

Kate was announced as patron of the gallery in 2012, having an intimate knowledge of the art world thanks to her degree in Art History. She’s also an avid photographer, and has been behind many of the adorable official portraits of her children.

The Duchess’s famous style has recently inspired other royal women to follow suit, and the mum-of-three recently opened up about the progress of 10-month-old Prince Louis in a rare candid moment.
