Yahoo Lifestyle Kate congratulates Team GB in a rare video appearance
The Prince and Princess of Wales recorded a special message of congratulations to the Team GB athletes, marking the end of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
In a new compilation video shared on their official Instagram account, Kate and William made a surprise appearance in casual clothes, commending all the participants who "showed immense dedication, heart and passion".
Kate added: “From all of us watching at home, congratulations to Team GB.”
In the clip, the princess wears a white long-sleeve top with navy Breton stripes, plus a dainty gold necklace. She wore her hair down, side-parted and straight, with natural make-up.
William is seen standing next to Kate while wearing a light blue Team GB polo shirt. Unusually, he is seen sporting a short beard, making the couple’s appearance seem even more casual and spontaneous.
“Well done on all you have achieved,” he says, addressing the athletes. “You've been an inspiration to us all.”
In total, Team GB won 65 medals: 14 gold, 22 silver, and 29 bronze.
Other notable personalities in the video include David Beckham and Snoop Dogg — the unofficial face of this year’s Games.

Here’s to celebrating every triumph at @paris2024 and looking forward to more from @paralympicsgb_official later in the summer,” Kate and William captioned their post.
Kate’s rare appearance for the Olympics message comes as she continues her preventative treatment for her form of cancer. The royal revealed her diagnosis back in March via an emotional video statement, which was shared on Kensington Palace’s social media accounts.
