Kate Bush has 'lots of ideas' for a new album after “Stranger Things” phenomenon: 'It’s been a long time'
The English singer-songwriter says she's "keen" on making new music after 10+ years away.
Over a decade since the release of her last album, Kate Bush is ready to make a deal with the recording gods and create some new music.
"I'm very keen to start working on a new album," the English singer-songwriter told BBC Radio 4's "Today" in a rare interview. "I've got lots of ideas and I'm really looking forward to getting back into that creative space. It's been a long time."
Particularly in the last year, "I've felt really ready to start doing something new," added the Grammy nominee.

Bush's last release was her 2011 tenth studio album 50 Words for Snow. In the years since the singer-songwriter has acquired a new generation of fans after her 1985 song "Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)" was featured in a notable scene in season 4 of the Netflix hit series Stranger Things in 2022. The track re-entered (and dominated) music charts as a result, sitting at No. 1 on Billboard's global chart and other streaming platforms.

The elusive Bush thanked series creators Matt and Ross Duffer in a statement following the track's re-entry into popular culture, writing on her website that she was "really moved" by the love. "I'm overwhelmed by the scale of affection and support the song is receiving and it's all happening really fast, as if it's being driven along by a kind of elemental force," said Bush at the time.

The alt-pop icon is known for keeping a low profile and rarely performs live. Her last live performances were during her 2014 residency at Hammersmith Apollo in London. When asked about the possibility of hitting the stage again, Bush told BBC Radio 4, "I'm not there yet."
Her rare interview was done in promotion of her new short film Little Shrew, set to her 2011 song "Snowflake." Bush wrote and directed the short animated war feature, which is raising funds for the charity War Child.
